Visitor Visas, eTA & Super Visas
Temporary resident planning for visitors to Canada, including TRVs, eTAs, super visas, family visits, business visits and refusal-sensitive files.
Who this is for
How the process works
-
1
Confirm whether the traveller needs a visitor visa, eTA, transit visa or super visa.
-
2
Review purpose of visit, itinerary, funds, host documents and home-country ties.
-
3
Prepare support letters, invitation evidence and prior-refusal explanations where relevant.
-
4
Check biometrics, medical insurance and super-visa income evidence when applicable.
Documents we usually review
- Passport, residence status, travel history and prior visa decisions.
- Purpose-of-visit evidence, itinerary, accommodation and invitation letter.
- Employment, business, family, property or financial ties outside Canada.
- For super visas: host status, relationship proof, insurance and income evidence.
Limits and risk points
- A visitor visa or eTA does not guarantee entry; border officers make final entry decisions.
- Visitors cannot work or study in Canada unless authorized.
- Super visa income and insurance rules must be checked against current IRCC instructions.
Official sources
These are the primary sources checked for this service page. Program rules can change, so the responsible authority should always be checked before filing.

Questions clients ask
Is a visitor visa the same as permission to enter Canada?
No. A visa or eTA lets you travel to Canada, but a border officer decides whether you may enter and under what conditions.
What makes a super visa different?
A super visa is for eligible parents and grandparents and has specific document, host-income and health-insurance requirements.
Can a visitor work in Canada?
No, not unless they have separate authorization to work. Visitor status is temporary and does not itself authorize employment.
